While speaking at the ECO summit, President Raisi will announce Iran’s positions and proposals in field of strengthening regional and international relations especially removing obstacles and increasing the level of cooperation and economic exchanges among member states of the organization.
During the visit, president Raisi will also hold bilateral meetings with other participants in the summit and review the ways to expand and deepen bilateral relations.
Meeting with Iranian businessmen residing in Turkmenistan is also among the president’s agenda.
The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) is an Asian political and economic intergovernmental organization which was founded in 1985 in Tehran by the leaders of Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey. It provides a platform to discuss ways to improve development and promote trade and investment opportunities.
Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan are 10 members of the organization.
Ashgabat will host the 15th ECO summit on November 28, 2021.
